Divine Provision: Paul’s Mission Testimony of Faith & Miracles

Hi, my name is Paul Ataru. This is my mission testimony.

Before I’d been engaged in mission work, I assumed that I trusted in God. God, through missions, would soon reveal to me that this assumption was deadly and that it would lead me to death. And so God revealed this assumption by giving me the space to minister to others and to take part in mission work.

I remain grateful and I praise God for the experiences that I’ve had in mission. For today, I stand being decided about trusting Him, and I learn daily to surrender. The foundation of this is in the mission work.

For most of the missions that I’ve been part of, I have taken part in managing departments and in planning for the missions. I have had the privilege of seeing God provide in scarcity and in times that we thought that what we had was not enough, just as in John chapter six. God provided, and we had more than enough.

In one particular mission, we were conducting a medical camp and saw a great number of people come for medication, especially in the second week. At the tail end of our medical camp, we had depleted every resource.

The mission was in Sierra, and we didn’t have much in terms of getting remedies quickly from a store nearby. If we were to get more remedies, we had to send for them from Nairobi. Another problem was that we didn’t have the finances to finance this, and we didn’t want to incur any debt.

So we prayed, and the Lord impressed us to lead the community through various trainings on health, diseases, and nutrition. On this particular day, a day when we thought that we didn’t have any remedy, God gave Himself as the remedy.

Interestingly, we recorded the highest number of people who sought Bible studies. They came to the booths, and we attended to them and conducted Bible studies. Previous days were marked with very few numbers, but on this day, when we had almost lost hope, we actually saw many come to seek God.

One of my greatest testimonies is the miracle of health. In one particular mission, we went to a place where water was a persistent problem. Our tap water was depleted, and we had to use water from a canal. The interesting fact is that we never got sick.

This water was contaminated, very contaminated. It was a place where people washed their motorcycles, vehicles, themselves, utensils, clothes—everything that could be washed was washed there. You can imagine the contamination that was present.

Despite knowing this, we interestingly did not act on it. It wasn’t in our conscious minds that we were drinking contaminated water. It wasn’t until after the mission that we reflected and realized that we had been consuming such contaminated water.

Being people who come from an urban setup, we are not adapted to contaminated water. We stand as a testimony of God caring for those who have given themselves to the work of ministering to others.

These are many, many more testimonies that I hold that keep me burning and seeking to share the gospel message.

Thank you.
